The Cliff House

The clients are a local couple wanting a larger house for them and their 4 children. They live a very active lifestyle with surfing at the centre of their exercise regime. The house sits on the site of a former poets bothy and is secluded yet commands stunning views of the beach and the surrounding coastline.  The brief was to design a family home with great views, storage and private spaces, whilst being able to gather together for family meals and gatherings with family and friends. The house is highly insulated, triple glazed and designed to Passivhaus standards to provide a warm and comfortable environment in this beautiful yet exposed clifftop location.
